The most common methods of fish rescue/removal are electric fishing and seine netting. Our staff have extensive electric fishing experience. All operatives are trained in-house to rigorous standards and have a range of survey equipment and the practical experience to cover any eventuality.
Fish are caught and kept in oxygenated containers and, depending on the site, fish can either be moved by hand or via our purpose built transport tanks. We are able to deal with fish removal from all water bodies and arrange relocation of fish to receptor water bodies.
Fish removals require consent from the regulator and potentially a consent to introduce fish into a new watercourse. We can provide full liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g. Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales etc) and apply for all necessary consents saving you time and money. In some circumstances a statutory Fish Health Check may be required and we provide sample collection and a health check undertaken by an Environment Agency-approved practitioner.
