We are often called upon to solve issues such as algae blooms and excessive aquatic plants and weeds. After assessing the water, and carrying out water quality analysis if required, we can advise on and implement biological control methods to provide long term solutions. We ensure water bodies contain suitable and sufficient aquatic plants to utilise nutrients in the water and create a natural balance. We are able to advise on the most suitable plants for your water and the number required to create natural water clarity and balance, and arrange supply and planting. If there are excessive submerged aquatic plants within the water, these are often best controlled long term with an adequate stocking of fish such as carp. We can advise on the number of fish required and supply fish from trusted health checked fish farms.

Water Quality

Water quality is the first thing we test whenever we are called out to investigate a fish health problem. Using the latest electronic meters, we can analyse oxygen levels, temperature and pH where necessary, and titration kits to test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrates, and hardness. With this information, we can determine whether the water quality is suitable, and if necessary, advice on the necessary remedial action.

It is also important that any fish have an adequate supply of nutritious food. For waters that have a stocking of fish, supplementary feeding with quality complete fish feeds is often required. We can advise on the most suitable feeds and amounts required to keep your fish in top condition.

Emergency Call out and Trouble Shooting

Our emergency call-out service is available for any aquatic problems from sudden deoxygenation of a lake or river, to broken pumping equipment. We are able to quickly diagnose most problems and offer practical short- and long-term solutions. We have aeration, pumping, fish-holding and removal equipment with trained staff available 24 hrs a day.
